| FUNCTIONS A Four Way Solenoid Operated Valve (SOV) can have a Single Soleniod Function (Fail Safe) where if the solenoid is energized, the valve shifts, then de-energized  returns to the original valve position. Double Soleniod Function (Fail As Is) where if one solenoid is energized, the valve shifts, then returns to the original valve position when other solenoid is energized. The solenoids may be energized continually or momentarily. DOUBLE-ACTING ACTUATORS/CYLINDERS 4 Way SOV's have four or five ported connections. One pressure inlet; Two cylinder ports providing air pressure to the double acting actuator cylinders; & One or Two outlet ports to exhaust pressure from the cylinders. In the De-Energized position pressure is connected to one cylinder port; and the other port is connected to the exhaust. In an energized position the pressure and exhaust operate in reverse. Having 4 Ports is less piping but with 5 ports speed control can act as an additional feature. CLICK ON A BROCHURE FOR A LARGER VIEW |
